What Is This Session About?

Many educators rely on digital tools but struggle to create connected workflows that effectively support teaching, collaboration, and learner engagement. This basic programme helps participants move from fragmented technology use to a purposeful digital learning environment by developing practical strategies for organising resources, streamlining workflows, and enhancing learning experiences.

Anchored in IAL's ADAPT framework, participants will build the confidence and foundational digital capabilities needed to integrate technology into their teaching and workplace learning practice. The session also serves as the starting point for developing more advanced AI-enhanced teaching capabilities through the IAL-Google (ADAPT) series.

Together with AI Explorer: Discovering Google AI Tools for Educators, this basic programme forms the foundation of the IAL-Google (ADAPT) series. Participants who complete both programmes will receive a joint IAL-Google certificate.

What Does The Session Cover?

Many educators have access to a wide range of digital tools, yet often use them in disconnected ways that create fragmented workflows and inconsistent learning experiences. This basic programme equips adult educators and workplace learning professionals to build a cohesive digital learning environment that supports communication, collaboration, content creation and learner engagement.

Participants will explore how Google Workspace tools—including Google Classroom, Drive, Docs, Slides, Forms, Sheets, Sites, Gmail and Chrome—can be purposefully integrated into teaching and workplace learning using IAL's ADAPT framework. Through guided hands-on activities, collaborative exercises and a Digital Workspace Design Challenge, participants will organise digital workflows, create collaborative learning resources, and develop a functional online learning environment aligned to authentic workplace contexts.

By the end of the programme, participants will have a fully operational Google Workspace setup, practical strategies for technology-enabled facilitation, and greater confidence in selecting and applying appropriate digital tools to enhance teaching, collaboration and learner support. As the first course in the IAL-Google (ADAPT) series, it establishes the digital foundation for subsequent AI-enhanced teaching and learning practice.

^ Assessment: Formative Assessment(s), Assignments/Presentations/Practical Performances)

^ Completion: Upon 100% attendance and meeting Assessment requirement, learners will receive a Certificate of Completion from IAL (and other partners where applicable)

Who Is It Suitable For?
